                                                         The Jett Reilly Story

Jett Reilly was one of six children,
belonging to a family where the knowledge and
love of Jesus was embedded from an early age.
His father and I played college basketball together.
We formed a bond that drew me close to his family.
Jett's family invited me to spend Christmas with
them in early December of 2000. Upon arriving,
Jett privately told me that he was going to see
Jesus. The clarity and sincerity in his voice left me
speechless. I could only respond,“Oh really!”

Christmas soon arrived and Jett received his very
own 4-wheel quad, just what he had sought and he was thrilled to have it in hand. Shortly
after Christmas, his Mom asked that I oversee the children while she ran some errands. As
she was just about to leave, I saw Jett a distance away tumbling from his seat on the quad
and crashing down, hitting the pavement. I ran to his side and found him unconscious. Taken
to the hospital, he was in a coma for 3 weeks and thereafter did as he said he would, he went
    to see Jesus.

The loss of life is a tragedy, indescribably so when it happens to one so young. Having known
that precocious young man for what can only be described as the shortest of time, I can still
see in his eyes and hear in his voice the spirit that led him to grow so tall during so short a
    moment in time.

In that same spirit of perpetual hope and dreams, held by Jett at the tender age of 6, BOY The
Dog sets out to represent children the world over without a voice, always to be remembered.
As well are those children who walk among us, as we teach them to follow their dreams in a
responsible and compassionate manner, working toward helping others less fortunate than
they, which by itself offers the greatest rewards.
